The Huff Family: First Trip to Houston, First Haircut & Happy Halloween

What a week it has been! We've been battling health issues, but still managed to get Maddy to her grandparents' house in Houston for the first time and get her first haircut since we've been back. This is going to be a long story (thought I would warn you now).
Before even leaving Maddy and I were both put on antibiotics. Maddy was diagnosed with pink eye in both eyes and an ear infection in both ears. Poor thing was still in good spirits but had to stay home from daycare. I was also put on the same medication for possible strep throat. Thinking we had things under control we headed down to Houston to meet Maddy's new coustin, Cooper, and to hang out with Russ's parents.
We got to hang out with Aunt Jenny, Uncle Michael and Cooper for a little while Saturday afternoon. Maddy didn't quite know what to think of Cooper but really enjoyed playing in his room with all his toys. They are such a cute family! After eating pizza and watching Maddy twirl in circles we headed to Gigi and Grandpa Billy's house. Maddy got to meet their cats for the first time. They loved playing with each other! Sunday Russ and Billy got to play golf, but Maddy started showing signs of not feeling well. Ginger and I set out to find an Urgent Care to get her checked out. It took us a couple of hours :) but we found a wonderful place that took great care of us. Maddy's ear infection was not going away so we got a new antibiotic for her.
From then on we got to hang out, go $hopping, check out the aquarium and even see a movie! Gigi and Billy watched Maddy and Cooper while Russ, Jenny and I got to eat some lunch and shop a little bit. It was nice to have some adult time :) They also had a little playgym in their backyard that Maddy really enjoyed. She wanted to go up and down the slide, and loved playing with the little door on the side. Gigi and Billy's neighbors stopped by the house and were so sweet. Maddy loved their son! They put tissue paper on each other's heads and played with the little basketball goal that they had setup for her. All in all, it was a wonderful trip and we can't wait to go back.
Since we've been home, Maddy has been back to the doctor and still has the ear infections but they seem to be getting better. We go back next week to make sure it's all gone. We also stopped on a whim and got her haircut. The lady that cut her hair was so nice, and the place specialized in kid's hair, so she put on a movie for Maddy to watch while we were sitting in the chair. Even sitting in my lap, Maddy did not want to have her hair messed with. We did not have any mishaps, luckily, and now Maddy's hair is not hanging in her eyes. We also dressed her up in her ladybug costume and took her to my work to trick-or-treat. We were a little late, but she got to see everyone, and we were able to also stop by her daycare's Halloween party. Maddy loved chasing the balloons all over the place, so much so that she never ate anything.
