Hello Fall!

I don't have any new pictures to share but I figured I would update everyone on how things are going with us. So far we've all managed to stay healthy. I've heard lots of stories from friends with sick kids so I feel very fortunate so far.
Maddy and I went to the zoo for the first time last weekend. I took a day off work with our friend April and her son and Maddy got to play at the zoo for a little while. Maddy's favorite parts were the petting zoo and the playground. She also liked the chocolate ice cream that we got to share:) That night Russ and I took her to her first high school football game. We only watched a couple of quarters but it was a lot of fun. She liked watching all the people and we stood down by the fence so she got to roam a little bit. I'd forgotten how exciting those games can be. Just to stick with the other firsts, Maddy used a straw for the first time that same night at dinner. We've tried giving her cups with straws before when we've been out to eat but she never could quite get it. That night for some reason something just clicked. It was great seeing that little light in her eyes when she got it.
Russ now has his dream truck. We were able to find a really good deal on a truck for him from a private seller and also managed to sell his old truck a few days later. I like to drive it too which is a good thing except Russ doesn't seem quite ready to share. Russ got to take Maddy to the fair yesterday to check out the animals and some other exhibits. It sounded like she enjoyed it and Maddy got plenty of compliments on her outfit.
Maddy continues to learn more words. They aren't always recognizable but she's trying. She still says "Uh Oh", but also likes to say goat, Joe, dog, horse, moo (when you ask what a cow says), Daddy (sort of) and ma (when she wants more) and done. She loves to point out the cows and horses during our commute to work and home. She loves to sing Row, Row, Row Your Boat and loves to read all her books. She's also managed to become a Barney fan, which drives her Daddy nuts. All in all we're doing well and hope that things continue that way. We can't wait to meet Maddy's new cousin this month!
